Davy Knowles, Still Got Work To Do, February 2019—Chicago, Illinois

This is IPI’s only rock/blues release, ever. It was done as an adventure into another genre of music. It features Davy Knowles who learned to play guitar in his native Isle of Man listening to records of Clapton, Knopfler, Mayall and so on. He refined his skill locally before coming to America at the age of 19. Davy knows how to play the blues like a veteran and despite various influences he plays in his own style. Knowles has had significant impact across US media including performances on the Jimmy Kimmel show and Good Morning America. Two of his albums have made the Top 3 Billboard Blues Chart. He has toured with Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy, The Who, Warren Haynes, George Thorogood, Peter Frampton, Joe Bonamassa, Kid Rock, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Rhythm Devils, and the Satriani/Hagar inspired supergroup Chickenfoot. Here he is joined by veteran rock/blues musicians playing all Knowles originals with one exception, “Garbage Man.” The performance was captured direct to analog 16 track tape with no digital component involved. The result is a sound with immediate and unfettered impact, complementing the power of the music itself. Engineering by Anthony Gravino of High Cross Sound.
